Oludeniz Babadag Paragliding duration
Ölüdeniz Babadağ parachute jump times vary slightly according to the runways and average 30 minutes. With the opening of the summit pistes in the last week of April, the winter use of the 1200-meter runway is now over. However, the 1200 meter runway is rarely used in summer months when there is over-limit wind and dense cloud that hinders vision, which is seen as an obstacle to flight on the summit runways. Apart from this, it can also be preferred by paragliding pilots who have received some training. The 1700 meter, 1800 meter and 1969 meter tracks, which are called summit tracks, differ in terms of location and direction.
While the 1700-meter runway gives the opportunity to take off perfectly in winds in the south and south-west direction, the 1800-meter runway consists of 2 different tracks that allow take-off in the north, the 1969-meter runway in the north, north-east and south-east directions. It is only 1-2 minutes that affects the flight time between peak departure points. However, it is the thermal currents and dynamic winds that affect the main flight times, and in order to extend the average flight time of 30 minutes, the pilot taking off must benefit from these thermal currents or dynamic winds. The mentioned thermal currents and dynamic wind are not always present.
The periods when thermal currents are most effective are usually the season transitions. However, even in seemingly stable conditions, it is possible to find thermal crumbs, which appear at different points of the slope at different times of the day. While it can be flown for hours in abundant thermal weather, the flight can only be extended by 5-10 minutes with small thermal crumbs. In some days and hours of the year, no thermal can be encountered. It totally depends on your luck. However, I would like to say that the guests who want to catch a thermal and fly for 1 hour or more feel sick and vomit in the air. Because catching the thermal, extending the flight and going higher is possible by making continuous turns in the thermal you find. This is completely nauseating. If possible, 5-10 minutes extension can be preferred, I do not recommend more. You can liken it to crawling on the ground with the delight of cypress.
